Hood-leaved Hakea
Hakea cucullata
This has some of the most interesting foliage in the genus; offering stem-clasping, 2", scallop-shell shaped leaves, and showy, bright pink flower clusters which are nestled down in the leaves. A really neat species!
Grow in full sun and well-drained soil. Hardy zones 9-10 (probably 8 with a little protection).
We ship vigorous young plants in 1-gallon pots. (Please note: the plants we ship have not yet developed their adult foliage shape (as is often the case with young hakeas). They will begin forming the adult leaves as the seedlings mature.)
