Hortus Botanicus means "Botanical Garden" (in Latin), and at our nursery we are very much like a mini botanical garden; growing and propagating a wide range of plants for sale, as well as offering private collections of plants and gardens for your enjoyment. Our range of plants extends from annuals and perennials, to unusual trees, shrubs and clematis, as well as nepenthes and other carnivorous plants, orchids and succulents. Established in 1994, Hortus Botanicus has been called "A gem among collector's nurseries" by Sunset Magazine. Visitng our website isn't quite like being at our nursery, but we sincerely hope that you will enjoy wandering through these pages as if you were meandering through our gardens and greenhouses in person - discovering some of the treasures Hortus Botanicus has to offer! Our spring and summer hours are Thursday through Monday, 10 am to 5pm, and we are located at 20103 Hanson Road in Fort Bragg.** We're closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays year around. PLEASE ALLOW 2 TO 3 WEEKS FOR DELIVERY - We try our best to ship orders within a week, however we are a small, family-run business and, during spring and summer months, (our busiest shipping seasons), shipments may be slightly delayed - we appreciate your patience and understanding. If you need your order right away, please don't hesitate letting us know - if we can, we'll certainly do our best to accomodate you. Winter orders may be delayed due to weather, or waiting for the correct planting times for the areas where the plants are to be shipped. If there's going to be a delay, we'll contact you. WE ACCEPT PLANT ORDERS FOR SHIPPING TO THE US ONLY. Due to the many different customs restrictions and regulations involved in foreign shipments of live plants and seeds, we are unable to accept orders for delivery outside of the United States or orders to Hawaii. (WE NOW SHIP SEEDS TO CANADA, however the website will not take your order - please call, fax or email us with your order.) **Fall and winter hours (Labor Day to the first day of spring) are Thursday through Monday 10 am to 4 pm, with the exception of Sunday 11 am to 3 pm.
