Leucadendron salignum

A common species with a wide natural distribution. Growing 4-6' tall and a bit wider, L. salignum is one of the most beloved of species for the colorful foliage. In females the involucral bracts are ivory, while in males they may be yellow or deep red. Flowering occurs over many months.
Grow in full sun and well-drained soil. Good along the coast. Deer and drought tolerant. Hardy zones 8-10.
