Flowering Maple.

This Hibiscus relative creates tremendous displays of pendant, bright red and golden-yellow lanterns throughout the year. The branches are open and semi-weeping, and the dark green, rough, foliage is narrow and reminiscent of elongated "maple leaves". Sometimes yellow veining will appear in the leaves, especially when grown in pots, and contrasts nicely with the flowers. Easy to grow in shade or part sun outdoors in mild climates, or as a house or patio plant in areas with severe Winters. Grows to 5-feet by 5-feet, but stays smaller in pots. Catches insects with its sparkling drops of honeydew. An insectivore that is effective in catching gnats and small flies. Requires being grown in 1/2 peat & 1/2 sand, and allowed to stand in water, in filtered sun. Never fertilize or allow to dry out. Winter dormant. Hardy zones 8-10. As these seeds are very fragile, we ship only the fresh, ripe fruits - specially wrapped and packaged, to arrive safely. Our mother shrub flowers several times per year, and we are able to harvest fruits regularly. Please note that the seed pods are not always available at the time of ordering, and since they also have a very short window of opportunity to pick and ship them upon ripening, we like taking orders for them in advance - to be shipped out immediately when the fruits have ripened. (If they are ordered along with other items, and are not available at that time, they will be back-ordered and shipped when available - with no additional S/H.)

(Blue Passion Flower)

Among the most famous of flowering vines, with exotic and waxy flowers of cream, bright denim blue and violet. The fragrant blooms appear all summer long, and are followed by small “edible” orange fruits. The 5-fingered, dark green foliage is also attractive. Easy to grow in full sun and moist, rich soil. Provide a trellis or arbor for these vigorous tendril climbers to cling. Attracts butterflies! Hardy zones 8-10.

A very rare species that's very similar to S. reginae in all respects, except that, as the plant matures, the leaf blades gradually become smaller, and the plant takes on the look of a giant rush (Juncus - hence the name). Grow in full sun and very-well-drained soil. Hardy zones 9 and up. May be grown indoors in cold climates.
